Jin – Oldest (The Worldwide Handsome Hyung)

Kim Seokjin, born in 1992, is the pillar of the group and holds the respected title of the oldest member, or hyung.

Despite his status, he’s famous for his hilarious “dad jokes,” easygoing nature, and his iconic “Worldwide Handsome” nickname. Jin’s warm, supportive, and sometimes chaotic energy is essential for keeping the atmosphere light and positive. 

Though he’s the eldest, he often acts like the mischievous youngest, ensuring the team stays grounded, joyful, and well-fed! His beautiful, clear vocal tone adds a powerful emotional layer to every BTS track.

Suga (The Genius Producer)

Min Yoongi, born in 1993, is the group’s lead rapper and genius producer, known professionally as Suga and his alter-ego Agust D. He possesses a remarkably witty and sometimes intimidating persona, often contrasted by his deep capacity for warmth and his intense passion for music.

Yoongi is one of the most prolific members, having written and produced over a hundred songs for BTS and other artists. While he loves sleeping and a quiet life, his lyrics are sharp, deeply honest, and critical of society, reflecting his journey and inner struggles with incredible artistry.

J-Hope (The Sunshine)

Kim Namjoon, born in late 1994, is the visionary BTS leader and main rapper. From the moment he was the first member selected, his deep intellect, fluent English, and thoughtful leadership have steered the group’s success. 

RM is the one who sets the standard for the group’s artistic direction and social messaging, often contributing deeply insightful lyrics. Known as the “God of Destruction” for his clumsiness, he balances his serious, philosophical side with a charming, approachable personality. He is the eloquent bridge between BTS and the rest of the world.

Jimin (The Charmer)

Park Jimin, born in 1995, is a main dancer and lead vocalist, celebrated for his breathtaking stage presence and captivating duality. Trained in contemporary dance, his movements are fluid, expressive, and deeply emotional. Jimin’s vocal delivery is instantly recognizable, often hitting the highest notes in the group’s discography.

Jungkook – Youngest (The Golden Maknae)

Jeon Jungkook, born in 1997, is the multi-talented youngest member, or maknae. Nicknamed the “Golden Maknae,” he excels in virtually everything he attempts: he is the main vocalist, a lead dancer, a sub-rapper, and the center of the group. 

Beyond his on-stage roles, he’s also skilled in drawing, video editing, photography, and even boxing. Jungkook’s journey from a shy trainee to a global superstar is inspiring. He is characterized by his relentless work ethic, competitive spirit, and deep humility despite his immense talent.

BTS Members Military Enlistment & Discharge Dates

As of 2025, all seven members have completed their mandatory military service in South Korea or are set to complete it in June. This period marks a major hiatus in group activities, but their highly anticipated OT7 (One True Seven) reunion is scheduled for the latter half of 2025!

Note: Suga (Min Yoongi) served as a Social Service Agent due to his shoulder injury, which has a slightly longer term.

RM (Leader of BTS)
